Stone Junction’s biggest focus in 2018 is enhancing our digital offering to clients. For instance, everybody in the agency is accrediting with Google, Facebook and Twitter social and PPC advertising programmes. We are also investing even more time into honing our email, analytics and search engine optimisation skills.

We are calling this process Stone Junction 4.0 and we’re doing it because we want to be the best PR agency in the industry. We don’t do small goals.

As part of the process, I’ve been collecting my favourite digital PR and marketing tools to provide a resource that anyone can access and use. If you have any favourites you would like to add, please feel free to contact me and tell me about them. There is nothing I love more than a bit of user generated content.

Today’s tools follow a digital storytelling theme, as always:

Canva: Infographics are so 2012, but visual storytelling is the future. Sadly, these two concepts are fundamentally the same thing, but with a different name. Canva is one of the best tools out there for easily creating infographics and social graphics on the fly. It can be done without the need for a great deal of design knowledge or a background in graphics.

Flourish: In early 2018 Google made its brilliant data visualisation tool, Flourish, free to use for everyone. Historically, you had to apply to use it and would only be approved if you could verify that you are a working in a newsroom. Now, without the need for coding you can turn a spreadsheet into an embeddable animation in seconds. It’s really cool, check it out.

Talkwalker: When you’ve finished telling your stories digitally, there is always the need to find out where those stories have been used. Talkwalker is a brilliant resource that allows you to deliver a basic level of media monitoring for free. At Stone Junction, this tool compliments the two paid for media monitoring tools we use, Meltwater and Kantar. However, we know that in many inhouse teams Talkwalker is used to provide an alternative that doesn’t break the bank.

Stone Junction 4.0 won’t be stopping any time soon —at least not until we embark on Stone Junction 5.0. So, keep checking back to the full-length version of this blog post, which collects all of the tools together, to keep up to date with the best ways of achieving your digital marketing objectives.
